Board of Directors
Rubén D. Morales, Board of Directors President
Mr. Morales has been a member of the MSCCC since 2005. He participated in the demonstration against Columbia University expansion and Pinnacle Group. Ruben Morales volunteer every wednesday in the centers weekly housing meetings. Mr. Morales motivates the non-members to join the center to continue to fight the efforts for affordable housing.
Usmerdys Valenzuela, Secretary
An active member since 2007, Usmerdys is one of the most value volunteer and member of Mirabal Center. Ms. Valenzuela is proud to serve in the board to help building and preserving the community.
Epifania Tejada, Board Member
Epifania is one the most active moderator in the housing weekly meetings. She is a great motivator and her energy motivates other to volunteer and fight against predatory landlords. Epifania has been a community member since 2005.
Veronica Caraballo, Board Member
Veronica came to the center because her apartment lack repairs. The MSCCC educated her on tenants'rights. She quickly organized a tenants association. They sued the landlord. Even though, it took two years, the tenants won the lawsuit. Mrs Caraballo, praises the Mirabal Center for the constant fight in favor of low
income families in west harlem and washington heights.
